Why have we quit dreaming? What’s the hindrance? Are we fearful? Is it the lack of support? Do we feel that if dreams don’t surround the entertainment or sports industries then they don’t matter? Do you even dream anymore? You know we didn’t have to stop just because we turned 18 right? The gifts that were kindled when you were a kid playing make-believe or daydreaming—are those still there? How many times do you find yourself saying, “I wish I could just…but no back to reality”? Why? Why can’t that be your reality? Why do you have to live a life that’s not fulfilling the joy within? Why do you choose to live a life walking in someone else’s dream? For a paycheck? I know there is a gift within you that desires to be free. A gifted desire to be, create, allow, and bring forth greatness that could not be replicated or formulated without you! Recently I’ve heard many people tell their friends, significant others, or children that their dreams don’t matter. Not because they don’t I just want to leave you with three things to remember this week: 1) Give God control Not quite sure of your situation but remember that God is in control if you allow him to be. Sometimes it starts to feel like a whirlwind and circus because we have grabbed the steering wheel and are guiding with blurred vision through our experiences. Release the grip and allow God to take control. Trust him with your journey and you just flow along with him. When he is guiding there is no guarantee storms Just yesterday I had the opportunity to attend The Mirror Experience, a women's conference put on by Flaw'Less N' Christ Ministries! Although this is the 9th year it has happened this is my first year actually being able to attend the event and I’m so happy I did! The focus is on building the woman of God back up so that when she looks into the mirror (in the natural or in the spirit) she is able to see the woman God has called her to be. This is accomplished by giving the tools to heal and mend the broken pieces through the Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit! I had a blessed time in the spirit with the other attendees praising God, allowing chains to be broken, and coming back to the realization that it is time to LIVE. Murcedes Outlaw, the founder of the experience, Psalmist Sherri Allen, and Evangelist Leah Fortson blessed my spirit on this day. If you were not there this year, I [Wanna download the pdf version to this blog? Just click right here and read some now and some later. I was literally sitting still in traffic on the 91 freeway and feeling real anxious about it. I had to travel quite a distance knowing the travel time could be severely multiplied because I was using the 91 and 605 freeways (You have to know Southern Cali to understand). I wanted to leave an hour earlier than I did so I was already feeling late even though I still had about 90mins to get there, find parking, and find where I was supposed to be. I was just so worried I would be late and miss the opportunity altogether. When I recognized what was happening I told myself “Melanie let’s sit back, calm down, don’t complain and just *sigh* take a deep breath.” As my anxiety decreased I asked myself what do I need to learn from this and thus, this post was born ;) Why am I stopped? It’s so irritating to be in stand still traffic and not know the reason why. It’s something like
Glad I didn't drop my camera!
Over the last few weeks I’ve been to Magic Mountain multiple times. Traveling about an hour one-way to stand in line, in extreme heat, for a ride that could possibly kill me. In July of this year a woman riding a coaster in Texas plunged to her death when her “SAFETY BAR” released. Knowing this information I, and many others, still trusted these apparatuses. We talked about the fear of it happening to us while standing in line and still decided to ride, multiple times! We flock and pay for these experiences because it causes excitement, gets our adrenaline pumping, and can be just clean genuine fun. In general, it has no other purpose. If I was to ask why it is easier to trust these roller coasters and their engineers and maintenance workers than it is to trust God, I’m sure the answer would be similar to: |
