I just want to leave you with three things to remember this week: 1) Give God control Not quite sure of your situation but remember that God is in control if you allow him to be. Sometimes it starts to feel like a whirlwind and circus because we have grabbed the steering wheel and are guiding with blurred vision through our experiences. Release the grip and allow God to take control. Trust him with your journey and you just flow along with him. When he is guiding there is no guarantee storms won’t come, but at least you know you will make it through them in the time frame he designed with all the positive characteristics and strengths learned and acquired in the process.
Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. 2) Do not grow weary in well doing And don’t wear yourself out either! Take some time to rest and find balance in your life right now. You don’t have to say yes to everything that crosses your desk, some things just might not get done, and some people will just have to be mad at you, it happens. We have to take care of ourselves! You are your best friend. You know what you need and how you need it. Rest is one of those things. Make sure you get it before your body forces you to. 3) Peace can take you a long way Seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14b). With all that is going on around us in our personal lives, the community, nation, and world we cannot afford to have our insides feeling like chaos or entertain those who are purposely attempting to cause division or strife in our life. Seek peace! Try to remain peaceful with ALL the people you encounter always reacting in a Christ like way. Seek peace! For your own internal benefit. The thing about the peace of the Lord is that it can be very inexplicable just like the verse says, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding all understanding”. That keeping peace does “guard our hearts and minds” and is necessary to get us through each moment, day, week, month. Seek it out and dwell in it! Philippians 4:7 I hope that you have the most blessed week ever. We’ll end with prayer today: Lord I ask that this week you help me to let go of the things I have been steering in the wrong direction. Give me increased faith to believe that you have things under control and will guide me through your truths on the path you have destined for me. Help me to say no, learn when I need to rest, and only take on the activities, projects, and responsibilities that you have desired me to take on. And Lord, please allow me to feel your peace. I don’t ask for you to change the situations I just ask that no matter what I face or how hard things may be that I have that peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for all that you are doing and thank you in advance for all that you will do! In Jesus mighty name I pray, amen. |
