The last couple of weeks all I have talked about is catching dreams and making sure you take time to rest your mind, body, and spirit while you are taking those steps. This week I want to keep that going and with good reason. Over the weekend I had the opportunity to not only go to a live Rehab Time event w/my friend Lizzy, but to have a sit down with Trent Shelton and just dialogue. It was truly a blessing and humbling experience to be in the same room with such a humble and genuine person. If you have never heard of Trent Shelton or rehab time before let me do a quick breakdown. Trent is a motivational speaker ok no he doesn’t like to be called that. He stated during the live event “I don’t want the titles you can have that, just call me someone who cares”. If you follow Trent on any of the social networking sites you will understand why he says that. Everything that he shares is genuine and obviously from the heart. Thru obedience he created RehabTime, which stands for Renew Every Heart and Body. His messages have literally touched millions and his heart for God has brought others to a greater intimacy with our creator. (Find him on Facebook.com/LikeTrentShelton or twitter or IG TrentShelton) There was soooo much said throughout this weekend but today I’m just going to share what I took from these two experiences. I pray they will encourage you to continue to go after those dreams until they become your reality! 1. Take me off the pages of your notebook. Remove me from the box you have put me in. Very early on something very simple was said, “I’m just going to speak to you guys from my heart”. I hear this ALL the time but Friday night it hit me different. It was so profound to me and here’s why. I make lists for days, plan everything out, journal every minute, and want to know a play by play of every situation. In that moment I heard the Lord say take him off the pages and out of the box. We have to give the Holy Spirit space to move and if we are sitting here with a checklist of what we thinks he or we should do he is not afforded that opportunity. Setting goals of what you want to accomplish is cool but let him move out of that as he pleases. 2. Come higher and see beyond the chaos When I met with Trent yesterday at a restaurant overlooking the always crowded 405 all I could think was sometimes you have to go higher in order to escape the chaos of the world around you. What I mean by this is if we look up to God and bombard his space even in our traffic situations [remember that blog? Go read it lol] then we can gain better perspective and he can remind us where it is we are going. He lets us see the destination in the distance so that when we’re back down at eye level we have the umph and encouragement needed to keep going. 3. You better chase the right persons dream One common theme throughout our entire conversation was know who you are! So many times we have great gifts, talents,
4. Let go of structure as we know it I don’t know if Trent realized how much the following statement tested my faith: He has an idea of what he wants to do but is not in any means bound by it. [severely paraphrased lol] It’s crazy how something so simple can punch you so hard in the throat when you’re not living by it. He has acquired the ability to remain presently focused and trust that God’s plans are the best! Go with the flowwww. He mentioned that people always misconstrue him saying that as if he has no structure at all. But as I sit and think about it, isn’t following the flow of the Holy Spirit the best structure you can have? [Small plug I cannot wait to share what I have been reading and writing up on this! Confirmation of some amazing stuff to come!] 5. Have a heart to give No needed revelatory explanation here. Give from the heart and people will receive that and you will reach every person you are meant to reach! 6. Know your circle We have to have the right people around us at all times. It’s a matter of life or death. Life or death of your dreams coming to pass. Life or death of your spiritual walk advancing. Life or death of your gifts being realized and actualized in your life. Do you have people around you slowly strangling you to death or those constantly pouring into your life building you up and helping you grow? Know your circle.
Be blessed my beautiful people and keep going forward!!! See you this week in the daily devotions!!!
