I'm Not Programmed For This

Last week was a lonnnng productive week. So late, late Saturday night I rewarded myself with a fun treat. Disneyland! My favorite place on earth =) The goal? Get on one ride and try out their gumbo before the park closed. The gumbo was nothing special but I did get on two rides. One of which inspired this post…

I haven’t been on this ride since they reopened it a few years back because I’ve never been willing to stand in the long line…anywho I’m on the flight getting banged up by the crazy hydraulics and I noticed C-3PO say something multiple times… “I’m not programmed for this” and it made me think of us. Yeah us, you and me!

How many times have we been mid trial, blessing, new task, etc and we scream out to everyone there “I’m not programmed for this!”

Ok, so we might not say those words exactly but we say something like:

I’m not ready for this
This is too much for me
I can’t handle this
I don’t deserve this

STOP!!!

Stop thinking about what you don’t have or what you don’t think you have and pull on the resources that you do. Your main resource? Let’s not forget him…Jesus Christ.

The bible says:  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me –Philippians 4:13

I need you to believe that. I don’t care how hard something may seem to you remember that God is saying Is there anything too hard for me? Genesis 18:14.

I know, I know, I don’t know what you are going through and the trials, struggles, new opportunities may feel overwhelming and like you can do no right in any of the situations. You may feel bogged down and have NO clue as to what you are doing. I feel you! I’ve been there! Let me stop frontin, I’m there now with some situations! So I ask you to do a few things:

1) Understand that you ARE equipped through Christ
2) Stop relying on yourself. You won’t always have all the answers!
3) Rely on God

For with God nothing will be impossible- Luke 1:37

Remember that!

One thing I noticed at the end of our flight was we landed safely and were greeted with a job well done. With all the screaming and yelling C-3PO did scaring everybody on board he completed the mission. He completed the task. Everything he said he was not programmed to do, he did. Sure it wasn’t completely smooth sailing, we crashed a few times, went into a few battle zones, but we made it to the final destination.

I want to encourage you today!

The world may not feel you are programmed for what you are doing, you may not even believe you are programmed for what you are doing. But if God allows for you to be in a situation I believe that he has prepped you with all you need, mainly HIM. SO GO TO HIM!!! Everything that you need is already inside of you! Every gift you need you already have. And what you don’t have I can guarantee you will acquire after your flight!

Do you want Jesus on all your flights with you? Salvation is free and can be yours whenever you are ready! The word says:
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” -Romans 10:9, 10 NKJV
You don’t have to pay anyone or complete a list of laws and regulations first. The gift is yours for free if you receive it. Well, the only cost is having faith! Acknowledge by speaking and believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and has brought you into a pure relationship with God, all your past sins, current, and future forgotten in him. And you’re saved. Of course we will still go through trials, face rough times, deal with struggles, but at least we have someone on board our flight with us that can take us through any and everything. Life is a process and God understands that waaaay better than people do. If you have received him in your heart on today I say welcome to the family of faith.
