So a few nights ago I was trying to get myself back into a groove. I've fallen off a bit in how much time I spend with God. Usually I begin to feel guilty about it and it keeps me away from serious prayer and reading longer than necessary. Anyways I was led to the following scripture:
So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word. (Matthew 28:8 NKJV)
I got excited because I got so much out of it. Sharing time =) The writing is totally towards myself but if you get something from it heeyyyy even better...My point for posting it!
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sent to give the disciples a message.
They were to inform them that Jesus had risen from the dead and that he would see them in Galilee! The word says they left the tomb "quickly" with "fear" and "great joy" and "ran" to disseminate the information that had been given to them. As they went, Jesus made himself apparent (v9-10) encouraged them to not be afraid and provided them with confirmation of the task at hand.
Listen here, everything that is about to happen in the next season is going to be happening "quickly" (With speed, rapidly, very soon). When God speaks you must react quickly, there is no time for doubt. Ponder in your heart, sure, but no rationalization that only leads you to confusion...When God says do, I must do.
Carol Kent stated "Fear is a fact of life. Some fear is positive- the holy fear we feel for our awesome God and the self-preserving fear that makes us run from danger"
Reverent fear should light a fire under my feet to do what God has told me to do in a timely manner. That I will not drag my feet, thus dragging out his will. As I trust God I will run from danger (negative mindsets, stagnation, some people, places, old habits, the enemies attempts to keep me in my past etc). As I trust God I may be able to assist in prevention efforts to keep others from falling into or being caught by danger.
Being a carrier of God's word and his blessings should bring us great joy. Earlier this day I was watching a show and I feel horrible b/c I don't remember the Pastor but he shared the following (paraphrase) "God is just as happy as he is holy, so why are my people so unhappy as they serve me"? Ey yo, I don't have the answer to that I don't think. But I do know that sometimes when I'm doing what I'm told I end up in a super unhappy place. It's usually because when spreading God's word brings turmoil to my flesh I have the tendency to magnifying those things instead of the mighty God that has the ability to do anything for his children. As I see things in the natural state and compare it to others it causes me to become down etc etc...tricks....
[If you find yourself doing what you are called to and following directives and you are feeling depressed re-shift your focus. Magnify the great God that is still doing great things in your life in spite of what you see right in front of you.]
A few Sunday's ago my Pastor said "Make God big...people should be able to look through you as a magnifying glass to see God mighty. See God high and lifted up". So think about your disposition and you'll see how you are displaying God. If you are feeling down now, QUICK, fix yourself. Praise Him so that others may see hope in Him!
When God gives you revelation that needs to be carried out the information is time sensitive! This is why you must trust the spirit and your instincts and react QUICKLY. The Mary's could have stopped and said "nah they wont believe us, they will commit us if we run around saying something like this, at least a 72 hour hold" (2012 paraphrase). They could have spent time discussing this amongst themselves and the disciples could have missed the message and perhaps Jesus. When you just go, God will make himself apparent to you as he did to the Mary's in verses 9-10, reassuring you in your actions through comfort and confirmation...
My God speaks: It is no longer time to walk. You must run into the next dimension as I restore the years and time the locust has eaten. Trust and believe and don't forget to praise and worship! You know the race isn't given to the swift but the one who endures BUT there are times in the race that you are going to have to pick up speed to make it up out of the valley (your situation, mindset, place of stagnation, fear, shame, and doubt) into the next dimension. Press and Go! Quickly! Be all you are in me. Royalty and called! A happily joyful child of God living in abundance!
